Forget boring fast food! Let’s learn some kitchen prep and presentation skills!
Join Banyan Campers for hands-on lessons in the Culinary Arts. Learn to develop a healthy menu, budget and shop for ingredients, follow recipes, and serve a meal. Make a dish with a Professional Guest Chef and learn what it’s like behind the scenes of a busy restaurant. And, our handicapable participants will prepare and host the beautiful buffet luncheon for Caregivers attending Banyan’s “Lunch with a Lawyer” seminar on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025 [For information on the seminar, see the posting on the Event’s page]
-When: July 28- August 1, 2025 (Monday-Friday); with a special session Saturday (08/02) at 10:00am for a special event!
-Time: 10:00am-2:00pm
-Who: Neurodiverse/Handicapable Young Adults Over the Age of 22, Able to Self-care and Communicate Needs
-Cost: $125 per week (If you register and pay for all three weeks of Camp Banyan, the cost is $110 per week)

To Prepare for Camp Banyan:
1) There is only room for 20 attenders, max. Make sure you register early and get your payment in to reserve your place
2) You will bring your own lunch daily (30-minute lunch break)
3) Wear comfortable clothes; you’ll need closed-toed shoes for Cooking Sessions and old clothes for Painting Days
4) Every day’s sessions include Themed Activities, a Core Values lesson, Practical Life Skills, and Recreational Fun
5) Master Teachers come in from the community each week
6) We take Field Trips into the community to learn more about the theme (Permission Slips will come home on Monday; must be returned signed by Wednesday)
