DESCRIPTION:It’s that time of year again – time to make your plans to be a part of Spring Break Camp 2018! \nFor young adults with disabilities\, (ages 16 to 29)\, preparing for independence. \nMarch 26 – 28th\, 9am – 3pm \nFirst Christian Church of Clearwater (2299 Drew St.) \nCost is $75 per Camper \nPurpose: to promote skills\, independence and friendships in a loving environment \nTheme: Communication – This session will focus on improving social and conversational skills\, identifying negative self-talk and moving into the ‘Green Zone’ of emotional health\, and even learning greetings (and sampling food) from other countries. \nBasic Prerequisites: Camper must be able to self-care (bathroom\, feeding\, hygiene)\, to understand and follow directions\, to express wants and needs clearly and will not physically harm others \nContact Camp Director\, Jane Williams\, at hello@ourbanyan.com \nReady to fill out the Camp application? More than $1.7 million was raised for more than 500 Tampa Bay area nonprofits during the 2017 Give Day Tampa Bay. Join us on May 1 to give where you live!”  \nFollow this link to read about and give to The Banyan Odyssey\, a non-profit that works to provide life-training and\, eventually\, living and working situations for those with disabilities. You can give at any time from April 17th to the official event on May 1st. Additional prizes and fund-matching may be won for The Banyan Odyssey if you give during the May 1st event! \nHelp us defray this summer’s fixed expenses for CAMP BANYAN\, the educational program of The Banyan Odyssey. Camp Banyan is a fun-with-a-purpose training ground in which handicapable young adults can acquire skills for independence\, make social connections and find self-expression in the arts. We serve 16 to 29 year-olds with intellectual disabilities in the Tampa Bay community. Our Campers come to Clearwater from Tampa\, New Port Richey\, Tarpon Springs\, St. Petersburg and central county–and we hope to expand our influence!
