DESCRIPTION:Join us for Camp Banyan – Summer 2018! We are so excited for our summer full of fun and friends! \nWeek 5 – July 16-20\nTheme: “Explore the Cosmos”\nWeek Five. It’s a big universe out there! Let’s look beyond ourselves and do some exploring. Our Core Value of “Be Involved” is key this week and we will look at the many volunteer opportunities that exist in our community.\nField Trip: The SPC Planetarium in St. Petersburg \n  \nRead on for general Camp Banyan – Summer 2018 FAQ!\nWho?\nCamp Director is Jane Williams\, V.P. of The Banyan Odyssey\, Inc.\nAdult Volunteers & Staff (subject to background check)\nStudent Volunteers and Guest Teachers \nWhat?\nCamp Banyan Summer Program:\nCamp Banyan is a six-week summer program for handicapable young adults ages 16 to 29 who\nare working towards independence (i.e. employment and life on their own\, with supports).\nThe emphasis is on developing and reinforcing Independent Living\, Social and Work Skills; we teach Core\nValues that help on the track to success; and the program also includes exposure to The Arts\, fitness and fun! \nWhen?\nJune 11th through July 27th\, 2018\n9:00am to 3:00pm\, Monday – Friday \n(each week is its own entity with its own theme!) \nHow Much?\nWeekly Camp Fee is $125.00 \nRegistration Fee (non-refundable) $25.00 – includes Camp Shirt\n(This one-time fee is due with the completed Application PLUS one week Camp Fees.)\nNote: Field Trips may sometimes require an additional fee.*\nSome Scholarships are available (contact Jane) \n*Campers bring their own bag lunch unless otherwise notified \nWhere?\nFirst Christian Church of Clearwater\n2299 Drew St\, Clearwater 33765 \n(located between US19 & Belcher Rd\, West of Spectrum Field & SPC Campus) \nUse WEST entrance under the portico to enter building\nBasic Requirements for Participation\nMust be able to self-care (bathroom\, feeding\, hygiene)\nMust be able to understand and follow directions\nIs able to express wants and needs clearly\nWill not physically harm others\nTo Find Out More… \n  \nFor more registration info & camp applications\, email us at hello@ourbanyan.com!
